FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Why do brands move from BigCommerce to Shopify?

Usually app ecosystem breadth, theme flexibility and the availability of developers. Both are capable platforms; the honest answer depends on what you are trying to do that you currently cannot.

Will my URLs change?

Some will, because the two platforms structure addresses differently. That is why the 301 map is built before cutover rather than after — it is the step that protects your existing traffic.

Can order history come across?

Yes, subject to what your export contains. We confirm the record count and which fields transfer during the inventory stage.

Do I need to rebuild my theme?

Not necessarily rebuild from scratch — we can reproduce your current design on Shopify. Many brands use the migration as the moment to change it, but that is a choice, not a requirement.

How long is the store offline?

It is not. The new store is built behind a password, verified, and only then does the domain switch. The cutover window is short and planned.
